ANNUAL MEETING – Tuesday, October 16, 2012

On Tuesday, October 16, 2012 – gathering and refreshments at 7:00 PM and film begins at 7:30 PM. Our annual meeting will feature a new film given to us by National PFLAG, Washington, DC. “Out in the Silence” is a story of love, hate and a quest for change in small town America.

This film is for all: gay, straight, teachers, pastors, parents, students, young and old and will challenge some to rethink their values and help close the gaps that divide our communities.

The story follows a small American town confronting a firestorm of controversy ignited by a same-sex wedding announcement in the local newspaper and is a gripping documentary illustrating the challenges of being an outsider in a conservative rural community and the change that is possible when courageous people break the silence and search for common ground.

We are pleased that Bill Bender, ACSW, LSW, professor at Kutztown University, will be with us to lead the discussion following the viewing of the film. Hope to see you all there!
